: Packers Execute Offer Sheet For Spearman


The Cincinnati Bengals have matched the Green Bay Packers' offer sheet on restricted free agent linebacker Armegis Spearman, the Bengals' official website reported Monday.

The Packers executed an offer sheet for Spearman last Thursday, at which point Cincinnati had seven days to match the offer or lose Spearman to the Packers.

According to the article, Spearman said he would have preferred to play for the Packers, where he believed he'd have a chance at a starting job.

"I've got nothing against the Bengals," he said. "Green Bay is a better situation for me because I've got a chance to start."

The Raiders have signed free agent DT Dana Stubblefield.

The Oakland Raiders have signed defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield, a three-time Pro Bowler who was NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1997 and NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1993.
The 32-year old Stubblefield has played in 146 league contests in 10 pro seasons - seven with the San Francisco 49ers and three with the Washington Redskins. His career totals include 331 tackles, 53.5 sacks and two interceptions.
